Recall that the pressure in a liquid is greatest at the bottom, and decreases with height, according to the equation for hydrostatic pressure:

dP/dz = - (density)*g , so
P(h) = P(0) - density*g*h

If the P(0) were the same for a baby as for an adult, since their heights are so different, either the pressure in the baby's brain would be too high, or the adult would pass out from lack of circulation in the brain.
