besides love. some people say because they love their partner and they cant see life without them, but why get married and not just live together, is in it the same thing?

It depends on the person.... money, security, physical attraction, the best sex they ever had, a drunken mistake, he was my best friend.... the reasons go on and on.... it doesn't make them good reason but these are some of the reasons I've heard
Go ahead and give Me a thumbs down but obviously you people didn't read the question..... I Did!... He didn't ask why YOU got married he asked reasons why people get married! Obviously there is only one really Good answer for getting married...LOVE ....which is the reason I got married... I married the love of my life.... but keep in mind that was not the question!

well love is a big part of it but besides that, just wanting to be with ONE person for the rest of your life. To have a family of your own. theres many reasons and i am glad that i chose to get married,

I got married because I couldn't imagine living my life without him in it.
We've been married 32 years and it's been a good life together.

Because it is pounded in our minds from young men and women, WE NEED SOMEONE TO SHARE OUR LIVES WITH, have kids with, want the whole princess wedding thing, it's all a crock.
Of course, looking at my dad being divorced and no gf for 37 years, it doesn't always look so bad. He can do what he wants, when he wants, and however he wants to. Nobody to question him or tell him they don't like his decisions.
