My nana is teaching me how to cook, and she says that "If you don't cook a good meal, your future husband won't be satisfied, and he'll get it from someone else! You want to lose him because you can't cook?"

Your Nana is funny! It helps to be a good cook! My husband always says I "tricked" him when we were just dating. I invited him over to a barbe-q at my parents house. I made this really great salsa that he LOVED! Not too long after that he invited me over to his place to eat, we would be cooking together. He asked me to make the same salsa. I did, but it didn't come out right! He still ate it and still fell in love with me though! He always accuses me jokingly and says my mom made the first one. His mom has this saying everytime one of her daughters cooks something that comes out delicious. She tells them, "Now you can get married!" It reminded me of your nana!

So if I combine everyones answers on here it boils down to you have to be good looking, have good kid(s), cook good, have a hunting dog, enjoy smex and give great BJ's well I guess all you're missing is the cooking. So yes learn all you can from your nana. As for kids we can work on that since we both enjoy smex. Oh and I'm just assuming the last criteria is met. Cause to a guy any BJ is a great one. So lets get married after you learn how to cook every recipe she knows. That should be what 2 1/2 years. Luv Termy

That is so not true a man will not leave you soli on bad cooking. That's what mothers tell their daughters years ago and i bought into that and found out the hard way that when a man wants to leave you it has nothing to do with your cooking or sex. I cooked a home cooked meal everyday for my husband no microwave cooking everything was from scratch. Gave him sex when ever he wanted it and i enjoyed sex with my husband and was not afraid to show it. He started having an affair with a co-worker who was 10 years older then himself and very unattractive he had no reason to cheat but he did anyway. Tell your nana she is dead wrong and sometimes all it takes for a man to cheat is having someone he don't know flirt tell him how wonderful he is .

Honey, that's only part of it!!

Men want beautiful women, good children, and a great cook, oh and a good huntin' dog!! LOL

But learn to cook anyway. Now a days too many people in the busy world are getting away from good old family suppers, to all the convience meals.

That's just something older women say to get their daughters or granddaughters to learn how to cook. These days, men don't care too much if you can cook or not. There are a lot of men out there that can cook better than their woman. But it's always nice to know how to cook for you and yours, plus it's a great way to spend time with your grandmother.

Nans give out the funniest advice. While it may have worked back in their day it's not so easy nowadays. Cheating men and women will get it from someone else regardless of how well the meal is cooked by you.
