I think it is a good idea if the person is terminal. And by that I mean with a short time to live and it would very painful. I'm not advocating someone that is depressed. If a person doesn't want to live anymore, they should be allowed the option of dying.

The correct term is Euthanasia. I'm all for it. Problem is sometimes these patients are no longer cognizant enough to make a sound decision. Read up on the Kavorkian case. Explains why so many are in an uproar over assisted suicides.

To end the suffering is much more "Humane", I was kind of against it at first but, after hearing about people pleading to be removed from the suffering I completely understand, It's a Horrible thing to even contemplate, begging to leave the world because, of the horrors of disease, VERY SAD !

It's only legal in Oregon but they have been attacked by the Attorney General about it time and time again. I think that under extreme terminal circumstances, it is warranted. In Oregon it is called the "Death with Dignity Act."

After all it's the patient's choice. Would you rather them go home and blow there brains out or die in their sleep with the help of pills.

My take is simple. If you want to kill yourself, then do it. Get a gun and put it in your mouth and end it. Don't make me or anyone else "help" you by getting pills or other drugs for you, and hold your hand while you do it. If your life is not worth living, then you should have the courage to take care of it without me.

you should be able to make that decison, its your body. i mean i can see the argument that abortion is another person so maybe you shouldn't have the choice, i'm conflicted about that honestly, but seriously you allow abortion but you're not going to allow assisted suicide? seems a little screwy to me.

I feel the government should not have the right to tell you that you have to live.

If it is your choice to end it and there is qualified help to do so then that is your choice and your right, it is your life.

one of those highly debated questions. i think it should be allowed cuz it's that person's life and he or she should be able to control that. hey but then again, different people have different beliefs and views on this issue

I do not think it is right... No person should be able to decide that...
I believe in Death Penalty, but that is an eye for an eye...

I think the charges for attempted suicide should be life in a padded room, with no parole...
