Take scissors & take the blade to wear it is flat against the jean & move it up && down kinda fast after a lil while it will begin to make a hole..it works best if you are wearing the jeans but be carefull not to cut your self...dont cutt holes in the jeans with the scissors because then you wont get the friffly look with all the strings also you can take sand paper && rub it around or rub them on concreat....i have done it so many ways but the easiest way is with scissors. :]

I've used a razor or exacto knife before. You can also rub your jeans on the concrete outside to distress them. Don't use scissors - that will make a clean cut and what you want is something rough and uneven.

method 1 (large holes/patches)- use heavy sandpaper and rub against the grain of the denim
method 2 (distressed lines, fine details) using a thread cutter, make a cut as wide as you want the patch, them start unweaving threads in the denim away from the cut

(good to practice on an old pair to learn what works well)

best done not with a scissor, but with a thick needle.
Take the part you want to distress and slowly rip with the needle threads of fabric, like up and apart... it is easy. don't overdo. smaller holes are more fashionable..
good luck and have fun

cut a small hole in the area you want a hole in and start pulling!!! and if you want an even more distressed look take sandpaper or a nail file will do and sandpaper your pants (works well on a darker was jean!!)

lol i did that to a pair of my jeans and they turned out really cute!!

It sounds wierd but to get the vintage Abercrombie/ True Religion look you have to rub a cheese grater up against your jeans.

Hope this help!
Good luck <3

Take some shearing scissors and gently puncture into wherever you want the holes/distressed areas and then with your hands kind of tug at the puncture and voila!

I got a wonderful hole in my jeans when a lawn mower rolled off a trailer. I nearly got injured. Risky, but accidents are good for holes. They are your jeans. Damage the material as you desire. You can even burn them.
