How can I open my metal file cabinet I lost my key dont want to do a disaster with it iis there a better way?

What other method can I use for opening the metal file cabinet if anyone knows I need help fast. Pls this is very serious since I have very important documents also my passport, which I need urgently. I need solution this is no joke

1/4 drill bit and drill out the lock. worked for me. and you can replace the lock when you are done.

Sears used to sell the lock kit separate from the file cabinet.

John's solution works fine and is lots easier than picking the lock.
