They have played 3 games, 1 against the Buffalo Bills, who haven't been good since early last decade, 1 against the Jets, who are always overrated, and 1 against the Chargers, who are for some reason not nearly as good as they were last year. When the competition isn't that good, it is easy to get blowout wins. Who thinks that, after they play teams like dallas, indie, pittsburgh, and baltimore, that they will still be considered the best in the NFL

The reason they don't have their "best" is because their "best" got caught cheating. again, it is easy to blow out bad teams.

Probably because they looked unbeatable against average defenses and the rest of their schedule is mostly against teams that are wanting on defense.
.For the most part NE has a soft schedule.
Most of their opponents didn't progress as well as they should have in the offseason.
They'll rule their division but I'm VEEERRRY INTERESTED in seeing how they fare against the upcoming AFC teams outside their division...especially the next two games against Cincinnati and Cleveland.
But on NE's schedule, the game I want to see the most is week 12 when McNabb and Philly travel to NE.

They are the best right now because they just beat up 2 playoff teams from last year, and they have blown the doors off of every team put in front of them. Pretty simple. Patriots big test comes in Big D against the Cowboys.

They didn't play BUF, NYJ, and SD, the blew them out!
They have the best Pass offense in the NFL. They consistantly score 38 points a game. There Defense is awesome as well. They are the #2 Pass Def and #5 Rush Def. #1 Def against total yardage and # 3 for points allowed. My qusetion for you is, If they are not the best right now then who is?

They are the best team now, and they will be the best team after they beat Dallas, Indy, Pittsburgh and Baltimore...and more importantly, win the Super Bowl...
...and this BTW is without 2 of their best defenders, Rodney Harrison and Richard Seymour...

If and when they play the other teams they will bear down and blow them out also. The Patriots are clearly #1 with the Colts a close #2 and then comes the Steelers, Cowboys, Ravens and Eagles.

we still have to see. but i can tell u one thing. they taken out their frustration on teams because of the tape incident. they could well do that all season. but yah i want to see them go against indy or pitt.
