If I have a virus will dowloading firefox stop the virus or how does that work.

for that virus problem i suggest getting a FREE product from lavasoft.com . Downloading Firefox will not solve the problem. Go to lavasoft.com, go to Ad-Aware, click select your product and choose the free one.

Firefox will not have any effect concerning viruses, any some viruses will prevent you from downloading/installing programs. Firefox is a browser, not an anti-virus program. If you know you have a virus, do a google search on the virus name and XP and see what people recommend for removing it.
You can also go to online virus scanning sites and try those for removing the virus. Pandasoft is one

I'm sorry, but Firefox is a web browser and unfortunately downloading this will not rid your system fo your virus. You'll need to get some anti-virus software like MacAfee or Norton Anti-virus. Good luck to ya!

if you have a virus firefox will not help you in any way... fire fox is a web browser... nor an anti virus programe...
got to trendmicro.com and have a online systems scan... for free... it will tell you if you have a virus..
but won't get rid of it for you..
then do a web search for
+free+antivirus+software+windows
type it just like I did.. then check out what is going...
do download Fire fox 2.. and install it is the most secure and fastest web browser

if you want to stop the virus, oh, you need an antivirus (obviously). the best one that I have is the AVG - it's free and detects all worms. Downloading firefox would also help. it has a built-in security that prevents viruses from entering your system, but it works better if you have a separate antivirus software
