Not only do I like Christmas, I love Christmas.
For the spirit of love and happiness everyone seems to share for about 4 weeks.
For the true fun and gratification I get from decorating the house, and the tree.
For the general sense that's it's not OK to fight during Christmas. It just seems so wrong. We should carry that spirit with us year-long.
For the "open house" atmosphere for about a month, with friends, neighbors and family.
For the Christmas cards we write. I never send the pre-printed ones, and catch up on long delayed correspondence. And this is reciprocated. What fun to get a real card and note in snail mail!
The delicious food. From the Obvious turkey/ham/roast beef... you cook or share delicacies you wouldn't think of during the rest of the year.
Think about it... nut bowls perched on counters, cheese and cracker everywhere, all the time. (Even the great port wine spreadable cheese!) Chocolate and pistachios. Deviled eggs. Snacks everywhere! Cookies and jellies and fruit........
I love the Christmas music too. It just makes me feel good. Sometimes happy and festive, sometimes reflective of the meaning of the season. The music is a great change of pace from the norm. (With the exception of Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, and stupid songs that fell into the mix.)
And saying "Merry Christmas". (Because it's allowed in stores now.) Just saying "Merry Christmas " makes me smile.
My greatest gift to someone is the gift of love. Sometimes a gift of love is a great big splash. A Big Deal Gift, because it's what they want, and you love them. Sometimes it's just giving love, not even wrapped.
What do I wish for? I wish to make a difference.. hopefully good. What do I wish to GET for Christmas? A good set of earphones for the plane. And a moment on the couch with my spouse and 2 dogs, all nestled up by the beautiful tree, listening to Silent Night. It's the best feeling I wish for, every year for the rest of my life.
What a great question! I didn't realize how good it was until I spent 1/2 hour answering it, and really thinking and feeling and remembering and hoping about the Christmas season..
For whatever reason you asked the question, I hope you get back what you have given.

I like it a lot, because all of my family from all across the country goes to one place and were together, that's not too often. It's also a very cheery time of year, more than a lot of other holidays, everyone is really nice to each other, very rare. The greatest gift to me is to know I made people happy at Christmas time, especially senior citizens and little children. I love seeing the sparkle in their eyes and the smiles that come upon their faces. It's heart throbbing. I would wish for a lot. Peace on earth, happiness everywhere, the wars to stop forever, and lots more.

There are so many reasons I like Christmas. It's a time set aside to remember it is the birthday of Jesus. It is the one time during the year that I see my whole family. People are happier and try to get along.
My gift to someone would be a count your blessings book. It is a book that you fill in each day with all the things you have to be thankful for.
I would wish for everyone to have love and happiness in their hearts.

Yes, there is no other time of the year quite like it. Getting together with family, great food and of course the excitement of people opening up their gifts. My greatest gift is in my arms right now, our 4 month old son and this year will be his first. The first of many new traditions.
I wish that we can be together, every year. I start work (two jobs) in hospitals next month. I just hope that I can be off work to be with everyone.

I love Christmas time because my entire family gets together and we always have a great dinner. The greatest gift i can give would be love. I wish and yearn to see my family, because i go to college in the united states when my family lives back in England, so i only get to see them for Christmas, spring break, and the summer. An other gift that i appreciate so much is books, i love to read i just love to soak up all the knowledge in there. :)

I must be the Grinch....i do not likethe Christmas season, but i know why. Christmastime means I get another year older, but it also signifies a time of togetherness, of cheer. Since my parents divorsed when I was quite young, I have never had a happpy Christmas. My parents fought all the time about who was going ot take me where.
I try to make the season a happier one for my daughter, who lost her father 3 years ago this coming january 1st, a day after my birthday. And for my sons, who do not live near here.
My main wish is something that will not happy anytime soon....Peace among all humans.

No! Why should I have to be nice to people that I've been trying to avoid for the rest of the year just because it's the season of "goodwill"?
My greatest gift would be to find some way of helping my brother through a traumatic divorce
I wish for Xmas on my own (no wife, in-laws & other hangers on - bliss!!)
