I feel pretty stupid, this one stumped me and my husband. There is a pic of a dog, Duke. The scale factor from Duke to the drawing is 12-1/2%. He needs to figure how long and how tall Duke is. Then the last question is what setting would you put a copier on, 50 to 200%, to make a life size poster of Duke. I am not quite sure how to help him on this one. Please Help!!

I am not looking for the answer, just the formula to get to the answer.

12 1/2% = 12.5/100 = 25/200 =1/8
Thus 12 1/2% = 1/8.
If you find the length and height of the dog and multiply by 8 it will give his true height.

The photo may be doubled three times that is to use 200% and place the pix on there then do so two more times to make it a life-size photo.

Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

If I understand correctly. With a scale factor of 12.5% , the drawing of Duke is 1/8 the size of the original dog. So the copier would need to be set to 800% , not one of your options unless you are allowed to copy the drawing at 200% 3 times.

Duke is 1/8 of normal size.
To get him full size you will have to copy at 200 percent 3 times.
