When you find out, let me know.

Actually, all business is about risk and business planning and management is about reducing the risk. Given that the majority of small businesses fail, then you must be aware that the risk is fairly high.

Firstly, a business must have enough money. Maybe you need $1 or $1,000,000. But if you try to run the $1 business on 0.50c then it will fail, as will the $1million business if you have $500,000.

So you can reduce your risk by modifying your business plan to require less money (maybe starting part-time, being less ambitious or working in partner ship with another business)

You can reduce risk by getting investors or business partners. This way you are not using all the money.

Finally, you could look at starting in stages. That is some businesses can operate without much staff or equipment for a while until they get customers, then they raise the money to get going.

But to do business you need a business head and a business heart. Many people who do business have no head for it, but they are determined and work hard. Others have no heart, they make great managers and keep thinking about starting a business, but never do.

Hi,
Business is like gambling. You put all your cards down and hoping that it will take you to the moon. It involve a lot risk in the owner's part - that's why you should buy an insurance for it.

It is personally risky - because you will have to be involve with it 100%. it's like a new born baby, you have to attend to it 24 hours each day.
