Saying that God doesn't exist because it's not possible to comprehend how He came into existence is quite possibly the shallowest philosophical answer on the face of the planet. Just because humans-- who have limited mental capacities-- can't comprehend something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I will admit, I cannot fully comprehend the following: The concept of infinity, black holes, the size of the universe, space-time, quantum mechanics, and how women think. Just because my puny brain can't completely understand these complex ideas doesn't mean they don't exist or aren't true.

As humans, we live in a world that relies on time. We make sense of reality through "cause and effect" relationships. Event A causes Event B, which causes Event C. So, it's not surprising in the least bit that we cannot fully comprehend the idea that something (e.g., God) exists without a preceding cause.

God was always there. He invented the universe, as well as time. It's difficult to comprehend, but it doesn't make it any less true.

"Saying that God doesn't exist because it's not possible to comprehend how He came into existence is quite possibly the shallowest philosophical answer on the face of the planet."

That deserves to be engraved in stone!

You asked in the science section. Whether you consider God the Creator, the Big Bang the method, intersecting M-branes, a quantum singularity, or whatever, you must consider whether the spacetime which is home to our physical universe came into existence coincident with the appearance of our universe. After putting some serious effort into grappling with those issues, you should have no trouble at all contemplating a God outside of, and independent of, our physical universe and its spacetime. If you need more clues, consider Exodus 3:14, where God identifies Himself as "I AM", and John 8:58, where Jesus Christ Himself says, "Before Abraham was, I AM."

The most likely explanation, in current terminology, is that God transcends time.

According to the bible, God said: "I am the Alpha and the Omega". This means that He is the beginning (alpha) and the end (omega). This would mean further, that before anything else in the universe had come into existence, God was already there, here, and everywhere (omnipresent). How? that is a mystery, but we have to believe it as God believing persons. You can also find in the bible that God says: Blessed are those who do not see but believe, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

You tatter on the brink of a cosmic convergence, an anarchy of the stars. The answer to the question of how God appeared is like a cathedral to the steerers of Troll, and the appostles of Trap.

How’s this for an answer: There was never a time when God was not!

If this statement is true then to ask “Where did God come from?” becomes a nonsense question because God never wasn’t.

If God never wasn’t then He had no beginning.

I've been taught that God has always been. That's something we just can't know the answer to for sure or fully comprehend. Be good on earth and ask him yourself in heaven.

God has always existed. He is The Alpha and The Omega. The beginning and the end. If you understood it, then you would be God.

the fact that there's no plausible answer to that question explains why so many people turn to atheism.
