Callbacks!!?

Question

i got a callback for my school play =]

i know what a callback IS.
but can anybody tell me excatly what goes down?

[remember its a school play. around 15 girls and 15 boys got call back if that helps?]

The director will have 'sides'...which are exerpts from the script and will assign certain scenes and/or monologues for people to read. Depending on their method, they may give you a few minute to read them over before you have to get up and read for him/her, or you may have to read it cold. There will most likely be a lot of sitting around waiting your turn. Use the downtime wisely, reading over your scene with a partner or watching other people read...you want to stand out, so find a way to put your own spin on the character. Don't just copy what everyone else is doing. Move around if you can while you read, don't just stand there. Try not to look down at the paper too much. If the director asks you to read again in a different way or for a different character, make sure there is a definite change! And definitely have fun with it...stay positive and they will notice!

You read again and it gives the idea that you are good enough to actually get a really good part. Also if your a callback your the last one on their minds and they remember your performance. Go break a leg.

Just go and have fun. show that you will be an energetic addition to the cast. (take any role you are offerred, even it it is not what you are called back for).
