coming back on to thank those who talked her/him out of it and for giving them a new point of view from which to look at their lives and make good of themselves?
I haven't, and I think that there are many who just pour their hearts out to those in pain, they deserve to know that their words meant something, don't you agree?

No it doesn't matter to me that people don't come back and say thank you. It's thanks enough if the get the help they need to get better. I'm not looking for a pat on the back. we're all here to help each other out, and if something I share helps that is wonderful. People have helped me over the years and this is my way to thank them, by spreading words of hope, love and encouragment. we're all in this together.

A lot of people can't be talked out of suicide on a website by people they don't know, so I doubt there's very few people who can actually truthfully say thank-you. although for people who do get helped, i also think they should say thank-you, because people do deserve to know when they're words mean something, it makes you more likely to reach out to another person in pain.

No. I sometimes think about suiciding but i never talk to anyone about it. Because it would be like that I am talking to them to tell me not to do it! People who are serious about killing themselves would not tell anyone!

No, people who consider suicide have serious issues that are not resolved by a good listener. Sorry.

Good point, yeah I do. But don't people choose best answers anyway which would let someone know their words helped?

Lol yea, obviously, but, if you did it because you just wanted to, i guess the feeling that got him out of suiciding is good enough, for me anyways... Sort of... >:|

To truly give is to not have expectations of a return. That being said, I have been thanked.

Then again there is always the possibility that some of them went ahead with it. You won't hear from them again.
