2HCl + Na2CO3 = CO2 + H2O + 2NaCL

HCl+NaCO3 -> NaCl + CO2 + H20 That is the chemical equation (not balanced). It shows that the 2 hydrogen atoms bond to an oxygen atom to make water, the sodium bonds to the chlorine to make sodium chloride which leaves the carbon and leftover oxygen to bond to make CO2. With these types of reaction it is always: acid + metal carbonate -> a salt + water + carbon dioxide I hope that I answered it in the way you were looking for

There is a property of acids strong acids called Displacement of Weaker Acids from their salt. Basically, what it means is that when you add a strong acid (HCl) to a salt of a weaker acid (sodium carbonate from Hydrogen carbonate) the strong acid (HCl) displaces the carbonic acid (H2CO3) from the salt (Think of it as a grass is always greener on the other side) and forms its own salt.
So, what happens is that the pH of the solution goes down and there is the formation of table salt and carbonic acid. i.e.

2HCl (SA) + Na2CO3 (WAS) --> 2NaCl (SAS) + H2CO3 (WA)
Where:
SA = Stronger acid
WAS = Weaker acid salt
SAS = Stronger acid salt
WA = Weaker acid

Na2CO3 + 2HCl = 2NaCl + CO2 + H2O.
(Some CO2 wil dissolve in the water to form a weak solution of carbonic acid...CO2 + H2O = H2CO3).

Thats a simple one.

You get products sodium chloride, water and carbon dioxide;

2HCl(aq) + Na2CO3 --> 2NaCl + CO2 + H20

BOOM! lol, no
but hey!! i did that in my Science class, and some foamy substance formed. And we had to keep the mouth of the test tube (where we mixed the substances) away from other people. I guess it's toxic...
