Humidity refers to the amount of water vapor that is in the air. The more that's in the air, the more humid it feels. Cool air holds less water than warm air, so it can feel damp or humid more quickly; however, most people really notice humidity when it's hot AND the air is near its saturation point. When that happens, we sweat, and because the air has so much water in it already, it has a tough time absorbing more; our sweat doesn't evaporate as readily, and we notice it more.

The actual term is "relative humidity" and refers to the amount of water vapor in the air compared to the amount of water vapor that COULD be there if the air was saturated. In the summer, high humidity makes us feel hotter since the cooling effect of perspiration is suppressed by the already high level of water in the air.

Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. Sort of like when a shower steams up the bathroom, though if the humidity ever became so thick, it would be considered 'smog'.

Well...
Humidity is the percentage moisture in the air. Simply, it means how wet the air is. It is one of the factors used in determining whether rainfall will occur.
When the humidity is 100%, we say that the air is saturated, that is the air cannot take anymore moisture usually leading to rainfall. Sometimes, though, it causes extremely wet air, such that standing outside makes you wet, even though it doesn't rain!

The presence of water vapour in the atmosphere attributes to it the property known as humidity. Therefore when water vapour is present, the air is said to be humid,--otherwise it is dry.
Relative humidity gives the amount of moisture(water vapour) present in the atmosphere in percentage for a particular temperature.
Hence relative humidity is defined as the ratio of the amount of water vapour present in the air to the amount of water vapour required to saturate it at that temperature.
In short, relative humidity is known as the degree of sauration.
It is not used to refer to the weather. It is one of the factors responsible for the changes in weather conditions. That is all.

Moisture suspended in the air. Makes hot feel hotter and cold feel colder. Below 80 % is comfortable, until it gets so dry that it dries out your skin. Above 80% will make cold temps cut to the bone or make hot days like a sticky, sweaty steambath.

humidity is the amount of water vapor present in air. we refer to vapor as the gaseous state of water. humidity is actually an element of weather. it means that it is also responsible for the everyday weather we experience. other elements include temperature, and air motion. so dont be confused on the two.
