Greetings. why do you think terrorist from some other country attacked us on 9/11? there is no proof that such was the case. 9/11 was simply the justification for the things that have happened, like the Homeland Security and the warrentless wire taps and the no longer having the right to a trial by your peers or the need for evidence to be presented that one actually committed a crime before being punished for it. Habius Corpus. It wasn't terrorists that wanted those things to happen, but republicans. Why would Moslem fundamentalists want America to create a new fascist oppressor government? they wouldn't. it would not be to their benefit. so why would they commit a crime to help it come to pass? 9/11 was of no benefit to the Moslems, only to our own leaders.

Your point is well taken but many of the American freedoms they hate need pointed out. Like the contrast between how we spoil and over coddle women compared to their dark ages mindset over where a woman's place is. We meddle in world affairs in the name of human rights yet turn our back on oppressed people in African nations. To their point of view the US Govt is a hypocritical liar and bully. A one world govt cannot exist as long as Islam stands in the way. They fear us because they know they are on the NWO agenda for eventual elimination. By causing chaos here it buys them time. The underlying problem is decades old, it was begun at the end of WW 2. We should have listened to Patton and MacArthur and eliminated them, should not have formed the state of Israel, and eliminated the Russians while we had the only big stick in existence. I think we should have also placed the Berlin wall at the French border. The Patriot Act is akin to most govt labels as it is actually its names exact opposite. So hypothetically your statement is right on. The problem is that the same people with a hand in the attack, also drew up the Patriot Act.

No, its apparent you have never bothered to read the act. What it did was tear down the wall between the intelligence gathering agencies and the law enforcement ones. It let Agencies like the NSA and the FBI exchange information. The free speech zones were first used by Bill clinton. I have heard rumors of "camps" for years, so far just a fairy tale. The condoning of torture, I have not seen one instance where an unbiased source gave proof, its always a terrorist that has been trained to say that exact thing. And last but not least, wiretaps, Bush's program is directed at overseas calls to numbers captured on enemy records and cell phones. Seems like anyone talking to an enemy the Government should have a right to know what is going on.
President Bush did far less than Lincoln or FDR did in the wars they had to fight, something libs like you either want to forget or don't know in the first place.

I've long said as much.
Here's the thing.... Some people here always retort by demanding to know WHO has had their freedoms compromised because of the PATRIOT Act. That completely misses the point, which is that the act itself is an affront to freedom and free thinking. Even if no one is arrested under the PATRIOT Act, the law is such that freedom is undermined, and this America is not the America that was envisioned for us by the Founders more than 200 years ago.

Come on man, are you kidding?
First off: There are protests going on all over the country; we had a major security breach with 9/11 and can't afford to have crowds in sensitive areas.
Not even a percentile of the American population, or a state even, has had their freedom affected by a camp. And may I remind you, if we had no concerns about international legitimacy, there would be no camps, we would be executing these people left and right.
Wire tapping, arrests etc, don't do anything illegal and you won't have to worry. Name one, just one of your friends or family that has had their live affected by the USA PATRIOT ACT.
Last I checked, everybody was doing, saying, and BUYING (stable economy refernce to the slow witted out there) everything they were before Bush was elected. And until any of that changes you can sit and stew you little bleeding heart out in the peace those nearly unnoticeable sacrifices have brought you.

Guess you haven't heard....the United States is at war with a pack of psychos who want the entire world to be controlled by their sick, demented interpretation of the Koran. Too bad you weren't around in WWII when the American people had to make *real* sacrifices to stop tyranny.
I'm not a terrorist so I don't have a thing to worry about as far as how the Patriot Act might affect me. I *am* a free American though, and have a lot to worry about from the creatures obsessed with either killing me and my family, or at the least subjecting us to a form of bestial tyranny the likes of which the world hasn't seen for a very long time.

I really do not see a question there, just a bunch of accusations, so it is difficlut to answer. I will ask you this though with all the freedoms you have listed about being lost and giving up to terrorist how has it changed your life, what have you "lost" what do you now do different than before?
Answer my question and i might be able to answer yours.

Me personally, forget about freedom. It is about survival now. If you do not want to be oppressed, you better get rich and politically powerful fast or you will be a victim of the future gulags in the US because your farted the wrong way and the leaders did not like it. (Guantanamo Bay anyone?)

All these freedoms? Oh I know, we have lost all of our freedoms because of the patriot act.... Our international phone calls MAY be listened to if we have possible terrorist connections. Yep, all of our rights and freedoms are gone now.... What a douche! BTW, waterboarding is not torture. So much for condoning torture.
You liberals love to make a mountain out of an ant hill!
