I remember there being reference to a convict whom gave his body over to science. The scientists then freeze dried him & spliced his body up in 1 cm sections so you could look at the human body from a head to toe view, splice by splice. Fascinating stuff. it's called the Visible Human Project.

Do a web search... there are many sites about the project and many Universities who have access to it.
