Well, generally for the money, I'm a Dell fan. We have 7 Dells in the family and we've had no problems whatsoever, and I currently have the XPS 410 desktop. It's been a great PC so far.

However, in this case and for the $850 you're quoting I know you can get a much better computer than that from Dell for less money. I assume that is the PC only and doesn't include a monitor.

With Dell the best thing to do is to go to their website and create an account. That way they will email you all the "sale" info as it comes out.

If you are looking at spending approx. $1000 for a PC, shop carefully and you'll be able to get a darn good machine.

Hope this helps.

The Sony sounds better. Which video card is that on the Sony? The Vostro comes with a NV8600 option.

Vaio, Theyre great laptops...I will admit theyre sometimes overpriced but their warranty is excellent, I had my hard drive break on me and they came over the same day and gave me a new one. Great service.
