stick to the face of the Rangers Ryan Hollweg this past season?

I think he was only suspended for 30 games. He could've easily killed him, that scumbag. The only reason why it was so short is because Hollweg was ok.

not only could he have killed him this was Simon's 5th suspension! where does the NHL draw the line? to me four suspensions for dirty fighting and racist comments then a potentially lethal attack on a player after receiving a clean check should definitely get you kicked out of the league.

Personally, that hit doesn't rank in the top 100 that I've seen. I think Simon should have been suspended, but I think 30 games is too much for what happened.

The Dino Ciccarelli-Luke Richardson incident in the 1980s was far worse....and Ciccarelli got two games or so (and a night in jail).

If Valeri Kharlamov was alive today, he'd call Simon's hit on Hollweg wussy (or whatever it would be in Russian) because Clarke's hits on him in 1972, and Ed Van Impe's baseball like swing in 1976 both make Simon's hit look like a love-tap

The 25-game suspension was more than enough. And in case you think I am an Isles fan, guess again. I have been a die-hard Rangers fan for the last 25 years. Sometimes, emotions get heated during a game, and yes, the hit by Simon was vicious, but the suspension handed down was the longest, by far, for that type of infraction. It did send a message to the rest of the players that this kind of behavior won't be tolerated.

I thought Hollweg deserved an Academy Award for that act. Even the French judge gave him a 10!

Is it 6 months ago again already? Groundhog day. Dead horse. The NHL handled it pretty good and if anything they were too stern.

YoYo- That analogy is ridiculous. If I threw a 100 MPH fastball at your head, should I be in prison for 25 years? Exactly.

Not the worst slash I've seen by a long shot. 30 games should be about right given Simon's rap sheet.

Dude, that was back in March....you're JUST getting wind of this now?

And just to answer your question, no, because the NHL have seen much worse stick infractions so it'll be setting an unnecessary precedent.

That seemed as though thirty games was a bit much. Of course it's not my face.
