And he started off with how the WORLD, not the United States alone, has basically destroyed the core family system. Afterwards, the first thing I hear on the news is how he attacked us right off the bat over families and how we treat women. I could not believe it, he never did that, and even though I compare him to Hitler, wonder how much our govenrment adds to it to keep us hating Iran?

Secondly, he was right about one thing, WE DO treat women and families lower now than ever before. He was right about that and saying that no matter which god you worship, you need to honor the family and women too.

Thoughts?

I NEVER said I trusted him, I DID say I compare him to Hitler. And I am not dumb to his actions in his own country, I DID however, point out that OUR government attacted his words right off, even twisting some of them. And I DID state that the core family values in OUR country are almost gone too, and that is a fact when in most schools now they do not ask for BOTH parents names so they do not offend single parent households.

Get YOUR facts stright.

No, I am not stupid, but I have just learned a thing or two about us. Even though I doubt any of you actually listened to the boring speach he made, you are quick to repete what the news says. I RESTATE, I do not trust him, I DO NOT support him, but, that the news attacked him over something he DIDNT say. YES, he is a lier, and I for one do not believe him. THAT wanst the point. Secondly, Even if he does not do it himself, it did bring up the fact that basic family values are declining all over the world. And a BLIND person can see that.

I think you have made some valid points... I too listened to his speech and actually it wasn't all that bad.. he did have some points. At least he was not just whining as Bush did.

However, having said that.. of course I do not trust him.. not a bit... but I still believe it is better to know ones enemies than not. We should listen to him and pay attention. We all seem to forget.. it was not Iran, Or Iraq.. of even Afghanistan for that matter who attacked us.. it was Bush's buddies the Saudis.. that has yet to be explained to me.

That and why we have never gone after bi La din.. and why we went after Hussein.

Is it any wonder the Arab world is thinking of annihilating us.. we have crazy man at our helm.. they think they can.

When the society turns its back on the values that made it great then that society is dead. It may take a hundred years to fall due to Inertia but it dead. See Roman, Persian, Greek, British, Mongol and now the American. I am a proud son of the USA however we the people have let the hired help kow tow to the really stupid few at the expense of the many. Mr. Spock had it right in a way. The good of the many out weighs the good of the few! Time to tell the progressives to go straight to hell....Or Ahmadinejad will be happy to send us there. Every time that crazy SSOB speaks in public he opens with a prayer. In that prayer he prays for the END OF DAYS. ARMAGEDDON FOR CHRISTIANS! He means it he wants the final war now. He just told the world that a nuclear Iran is settled and it is none of the world's business......
It is probably I am not the guy in charge tonight. President Ahmadinejad would be dead and his country would be suffering the consequences of him delivering a declaration of war against the world. Iran would have a surplus of glow in the dark glass. He wants Iran to be nuclear.........IT WOULD BE FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS, THEN IT WOULD BE DEAD.

Well, despite what he says, hes obviously against the U.S. He speaks what he believes, such as trying to wipe out Israel or that the Holocaust never existed. Either two things can be said, either hes trying to take advantage of the ignorant, or, like how hes commenting on our government/society, maybe hes simply trying to stir something up. Besides, he has no right to comment on everyone "destroying the core family system" Especially since they treat women like dirt. As for that government thing, we don't ever really know. The government controls the media and we are helpless to it. However, for the news thing, those people put stuff on the news from what happened, and i doubt the government has anything to do with what you heard. It's either you heard from an unreliable source, or it could have just been distorted. Who knows, really.

Oh, I've got a few thoughts:
Listen, this guy is dangerous; he has two faces. Don't for a second believe he thinks women are not honoured in any country outside of his. He's the biggest hypocrite! (His religion does not honour women when they're second class!)
I watched with my own eyes when an undercover investigator went to one of his speeches in his own country of Iran and stated that the entire world must be converted to Muslim, and that countries like America must be considered an enemy, especially when befriended with Israel, and that the time to fight would soon come.
By the way, when he visited Columbia University and was confronted with a guestion: Do you have any gays in your country?
His answer: We don't have any gays.
Just think about that answer and you'll know the man.

I would like to hear from someone who is neutral and understands Farsi or Persian so we can know what he actually said. When I was a kid I had a friend whose grandma spoke Russian and when Kruschev spoke she would hear the translation. Often not close but more what our government wanted the translation to be. Methinks it is probably the same with Ahmadinejad.

I started to listen to what he had to say, but right from the git go he starts talking about god and religion, heavenly fathers or some such non-sense and I started drifting off...... (((yawn)))

It's hard to stay focused on people that still "believe" in superstitions..!

His idea of honor your women is to keep them home cooking and cleaning for the family while covered head to toe in a burka.

Now my Son your eyes are opening up as well as your mind, how easily Americans have been mislead. It only makes us look like the Barbarians that we accuse everybody else of being.

Although a ruthless, hatemongering dictator, he speaks his mind, and that makes some of his stances agreeable. He is not speaking what is on the minds of moveon.org or Freedom's Watch.
