I don't believe so, because the process had to start somewhere.

Its impossible based on the fact that man has no regard for the evolutionary ladder - a result of the fact that our thinking faculties are so "advanced." I mean, think about it... PETA wasn't around to save the dinosaurs. They died. Animals today don't die. They go on lists and we breed them to make sure they stick around. In natural selection, animals not suited to their needs die out. In people, where poor eyesight would mean a lack of ability to efficiently hunt, we have developed glasses (see: eugenics). In a way, we have stunted the growth of evolution and are quite possibly the last rung on the ladder.

So, no God evolving from man... Hard pressed, I'd say we'd be most likely to evolve into some sort of braintrust blob. We've already started to move in this direction with the obesity epidemic. Our brains are really the strongest evolutionary feature that we have. We don't fight with hands anymore. We fire bullets fro hundreds of yards away. Eventually, we'll have satellites with lasers on them and won't have to move at all to kill each other. A more interesting question... can we devolve back to the God state?

(I admit though, I feel bad for God, if its true that he created us in his image.)

The traditional theistic conception of God is that s/he is perfect and eternal. To say that God evolved is to imply that s/he changed. Change is a power that God can not have because if s/he is perfect than change would bespeak a previous lack, which is impossible. It also would imply God's contingency on more supernatural forces than him/herself, which is also impossible. For any all-knowing being to make a change it would mean something was wrong before and if that is the case than what most of the world thinks about God would be wrong.

Well, if you believe what the Bible says than your answer would be yes...it is impossible that God evolved. God never evolved from anything, He always was and has been the same since before time.

I'd say that anything is possible.

I'd say that a mouse is likely more obedient than a man. And that freedom of will is a conflict in motion.

I'd say that some men are better rendered into mice or dogs than to remain as men. And some dogs display the kind of loyalty men ought to display.

On the whole, I'll say goodnight because I've got tomorrow's work to think about. Thanks for the 2 points!

That it is impossible that god evolved from man is not ethically debateable, as there is no concrete evidence of the existence of god - physical, biological evidence, as in fossils or living organisms.

Then he does not yet exist. Perhaps man hundreds of years from now would seem like a god to us now. In the past tense though I would disagree. There are no gods.

It does raise the interesting speculation that, one day, 'Man' might evolve to the point of being 'Godlike'. Lots of Sci-Fi has been written around that ☺
