...the beginning of the songs goes;
"Take my hand, discoman
Are you just a one night stand"?
"Have some fun, jump the gun
But what’s left when it’s all done".

My question is, if you know how the melody goes for those few lines, tell me where 'The Damned' borrowed it from.
Name the UK late 60's-early 70's psych/prog rock band that had a song with the exact same melody (different lyrics of course).
Name the band, and the song!

Kit - Did you get bitten by a snake during you trip to the toilet? Haaa!
Sadly, your answer is incorrect. Though the word 'Disco' does appear in both songs.
Here's a hint;
The band I'm looking for featured a future 'King Crimson' bass player at one time. I'll say no more!

It is blatantly a rip-off of a Frank Zappa song "Disco Boy" and I'm going to the toilet now.
ps.I'm going with Pete Giles of Giles,Giles and Fripp..and the song might be "one in a Million" or "Thursday Morning".

The Dammed is one of my all-time favorites. I've never really thought about it, I always assumed that the intro was their own, but with borrowed elements from various other sources.

I can't believe it....but could it be Emerson, Lake and Palmer's "Karn Evil 9?"

I haven't listened to them in years, mainly because I associate them with an ex-boyrfiend.....whoops, boyfriend. Who made my life absolutely hell. Emerson, Lake and Palmer=bad memories.

But like I said, I can't believe it: the Damned and ELP?
