These are some functions of proteins, though I don't know if you would call them THE four functions of proteins. You might want to call a friend in the class and see what they have in their notes.
Proteins:
1. build parts of living things like hair, horns, hoofs, nails
2. carry oxygen
3. contract muscles
4. convey immunity
5. act as enzymes to regulate the speed of reactions

I think you may mean the four types. They are primary. The chains; polypeptides. Secondary; alpha helices and beta sheets. Tertiary. Complete proteins, such as an enzyme. Quaternary; made of subunits, such as hemoglobin.

I don't know if there are only 4 functions. Lets see: osmotic pressure, structural proteins, movemement (muscle), hormones, receptors, enzymes, transport proteins, proteoglycans, immunoglobulins, coagulation factors, complement fixation.....nope, there are definitely more than 4 functions.
