History is NEVER boring -- it rocks!
The first book I ever chose to read, and not for any class in school, was naturally an historical book. I still read books on all periods of history regularly, and not for school. However, I must add that the History category here on Yahoo Answers doesn't always rock - it gets filled with Polls & Surveys questions, cooking questions, Trivia questions, antique appraisal questions, and the worst of all - Homework Help questions!

History rocks yes, oh wait Rocks is Geology! But it could be construed to be fossils which as we know are solid rock but not necessarily rock solid since if they were rock solid we would not see the fossil image. But you could also be asking about the study of the history derived from rocks and that I believe is Archeology.

I have found history to be the most life changing topic I have ever studied. Knowing how humanity arrived at our present day has enabled me to transcend the boxed in thinking of modern day ignorance. Without this knowledge I was really blind to important points in considering my place in society.
The farther back in history you look the farther into the future you can see.
To not know history is to remain perpetually a child.
He who does not know history is bound to repeat it.
Yes! history can rock your world to its foundation!

History as a course topic...Boring!
Read in a memoir form... intriguing and interesting. I like to hear things from the perspective of those who actually lived through the events, instead of just being regurgitated by someone who wasn't even alive when they happened.

History is who we are and who we were! it is everything we have come to be and everything we have failed to learn from! To understand where we are today we must look to the past and study it!.... Plus its way more interesting than something like maths! ... algebra or learning about powerful women and men who have changed the world through their actions such as catherine de medici who guided 3 of her sons through their kingships of france and also masterminded one of the deciding events in the reformation in france! .... or u could learn differentiation...up to you really! :)
