Wow! Only 3800! iI's not an indictment on brave men and women that lost their lives, but a sign of how effective our troops are. A war that started six years ago should have yielded far worse casualties, but because of military training and superior soldiers, we have a war with the fewest casualties in any war in modern times. God bless those that died, and bless those still fighting!

No matter how awful loss of one human life is, it is a necessary evil of war. 3800 troops lost in a time of war especially in the amount of time this war has gone on is a fairly low number. There were over 4000 active duty military deaths in Clinton's first four years and we were not at war with anyone. Yes I know overall deaths under Bush is higher than overall under Clinton, but you must consider war vs. no war. I know don't bring up Clinton no Republican is ever allowed to bring up a democrat to compare with republicans, but you democrats can bring up all the republicans you want to compare to democrats, as long as you are always right, which you rarely actually are, anything goes. I do make a valid point though regardless of what you think I have a right to compare or not.

More men and women die on the roads of the US each year due to traffic accidents. These are people who should expect to make it home. No one wants to take away our cars, do they?
Soldiers and Marines are at least on the ground for a reason, if called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice, at least they are dying for a reason.
And it is not to make profiteers money.
We are keeping the enemy from attacking us on our own soil again. Look at the bombing plots foiled in Europe in recent weeks, or the plot at Fort Dix and JFK International airport. It proves that the enemy still wants to hit us at the homefront.
Considering losses are happening at such a small rate, compared to the 56,000 British Soldiers killed in action on the first DAY of the Battle of The Somme 1916, there really needs to be some perspective here.
We lost nearly as many as our current losses on Omaha Beach alone on the Sixth of June 1944.
We lost some 3000 innocent people in one morning on the Eleventh because delusional zealots thought they could attack us without consequence. Why are you not more upset about that? Or have you forgotten they declared war on us?
I fought because it was the right thing to do. You are not being asked to fight, you are not in danger of being drafted.
Stop picking on the men and women that are willing to stand up for all our behalf.

Dont believe everything the media says, but in this case do. We are winning in the sense that Iraq is still controlled by Iraq. That says to me that military-speaking we are winning. It will be some time when we will make political/ecomonic strides but they are improving.
I echo all the people who talk about past wars where America lost 10x the amount of troops, but what a price they paid for our freedoms. GO TROOPS!!!! KEEP UP THE HONORABLE JOB YOU ARE DOING!!!! WE PRAY FOR YOU!!

Because they do what the president tells them? It is a stupid war that Bush started and now is unable to finish. I think Bush well go down in history as the most hated man in the history of the United States.
But really didnt Bush declare the war over SEVERAL years ago. If so why we there.

We must be looking at a different media because the one I see is touting defeat at every corner/ Every death hurts but the reality is that 50 million died in WWII in order to secure freedom for the world so 3800 though painful is small price to pay for security and peace

Dude where in a war, I have been deployed to both areas Afgan and Iraq, and lost some friends along the way, but, it is war, both sides are gonna have casualties, in World War 2 we lost 10 Times that in one day on Normandy beach, and we won that Battle and eventually won the war, it is what it is, and everytime we lose a soldier/Troop my heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

So 3800 is the measuring stick for losing a war?
Guess we lost WW1 and WW2 and every other war we have ever fought.
Go ask Michael Moore for your next idiotic attempt to slur our troops.
