XBOX 360 and PS3 can function on any TV weather it's Hi-Def or not. And yes, both of them have internet browsers. XBOX has a good fair share of games, Internal Hard Drive and Wireless Controllers but has a tendancy to break down. PS3 is good with Blu-Ray, Internal Hard Drive, Backwards Compatibility (meaning it can play ur existing PlayStation 1 and 2 games), Wireless Controllers, Wi-Fi, SD slots and HDMI Port. The only downfall is the price of it.
XBOX 360 - 20GB $349.99
XBOX 360 Elite - 120GB $449.99
PS3 - 60GB $499.99
PS3 - 80GB $599.99

I'd go with the xbox 360. It has more games, and madden and ncaa 08 both play twice the frames per second as the ps3. Also, the ps3 does not have rumble. Xbox live is also better with consumers than sony. I only have a standard def tv and it looks awesome
I love sony, however, i couldn't wait or afford at the time a ps3, so that is why i have an xbox360. That does not mean i am a microsoft lover though. The only one i know of that has an internet browser is the wii, which i also have mainly for the old school nes titles.

Go with the PS3, and I want to make one thing clear, the PS3 has the internet browser not the Xbox 360. Someone else said that they both have internet browsers, but the 360 does not have one. I check my email and shop online all the time with my PS3, but the only thing that you can do with the 360 is online gaming, not web browsing.
I'm not going to go in detail, but the Blu-Ray, built in WiFi, camera flash card slots and backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games makes a PS3 essential for anyone who has owned these consoles because nearly every gamer has had one or both of these two consoles.
Please don't buy the 360 just for Halo 3, because when the hype dies down from that game, you'll probably have to wait half a year or more just for a decent 360 exclusive game, but the PS3 is getting great exclusives every month for the rest of this year and going into next year.
