It is actually very difficult to compare Guild Wars (GW) and World of Warcraft (WoW). They are very different games.
WoW is a very traditional MMORPG. It has dedicated craft systems, hundreds of people active in the game at the same time. But in many ways is slower game than GWs. WoW also has a real problem with over-crowded servers, farmers, and spammers.
Guild Wars comes of as a action oriented RPG, not quite Diablo like, but closer than WoW is. You can only encounter other players in towns, all other areas of the game are like WoW instances, if you don't enter with a party, you enter alone. Guild Wars does not have a dedicated craft system, and while it does have farmers and spammers, they are easier to shut out and avoid in GWs.

id definately say worldwide of warcraft because of the fact it retains getting larger and extra useful mutually as guild wars is jus kinda staying the comparable and guild wars extremely does get uninteresting after a quick time of enjoying yet while your gonna play worldwide of warcraft you will possibly wanna start up quickly because of the fact lich king is popping out quickly and point cap is being raised to 80 so which you dont wanna be discouraged from leveling :)

the only think i dont like about guild war is that you cant see other players once you leave the town. thats right, when you go hunting or doing mission, you cant see other players unless you invite them to join your party. not like wow, you can see other players fighting the monsters. if you have the money to pay every month, you should go for wow.
if you dont want anyone to interrupt your fight, you like to go hunting/do mission alone. guild war is your choice.
