Some do, but they don't really take it seriously. It means stylish/fashionable, up-to-the-minute, modern and chic.

My Girlfriend who is from Britain has said that word a couple of times. I beleive "Posh" is the term used for people who have some sort aristocratic power. I guess the wealthy, the way she says it seems that its a negative thing to say, my guess its something along of arrogance, or egoistic. ill ask her tomorrow.

Btw when i do a british accent i sound POSH, so thats why she said it... oh blimey, bloody hell.

Rarely us Brits actually say posh. It is more of a magazine word. If and when we do say it it means expensive, nice, and/or fancy. It might be used in describing a designer or outfit.

Hope this helps.

yes they do, so do I- it means quite upper crust, luxurious, extravagant. it came from the old days when travel was by ocean liners. Rich people could afford cabins on the best side of the ship..Port Out, Starboard Home...that way they would not have to look at the docks or filthy water..or working people or beggars either

Of course. It means upper class or smart or stylish, but can often mean a bit of snootiness, too. Depends upon how it is used.

Oh Yes, I am English.
