i've just had my 1st child this year i've breastfed him the entire time, hes now 8months old. He absolutley does not take a bottle. i've had unprotected sex, using the pull out method with his father. Do you think its possible i'm already pregnant? What are some signs? and will i stop lactating if i am?

You will not stop lactating if you are pregnant, although your baby may notice a change in the taste of the milk.

My period did not return until my baby was 14 months old. I slowed down nursing at 12 months, but did not stop completely. It took two months from that point for my period to return.

You ovulate prior to your period, so it is possible that you can get pregnant before you have your period.

Breastfeeding At 8 Months

If you're no longer exclusively breastfeeding (and at 8mths you've probably already introduced solids) you should really start using condoms if you dont like the pill. Pull out method isnt that good at preventing pregnancy, and the 'problem' with not having your period is that you never know when it will start back up. I didnt get mine until my daughter was 11mths (still breastfeeding but only 3 times a day at most). So there is this window of when you dont think you have your period but you do and are thus fertile.

Do you remember the signs of when you were pregnant with your first? Should be the same. And no, you shouldn't have a problem being able to continue breastfeeding your baby even if you are pregnant.

Some women who breasfeed don't get their period until the start to wean. It took my aunt 11 months, I on the other hand, was breastfeeding and got my period a month after my son was born. Being pregnant doesn't make you stop lactating and some women even breastfeed one child, get pregnant, and continue to breasfeed even 2 children. That's fine as long as the newborn is first priority. Breasfeeding can be used as a form of birth control, but it isn't very effective because each woman is so different. If I were you, I would take a test if you are worried. If you continue to breastfeed and don't get a period by 12 months, go see your OB.

When I had my son I breastfeed for 11 months and didn't get a period until months later. So I went over a year without a period. The Dr said it was normal.

You should use protection, because you can still get pregnant!! Be careful. My friends babies are 11 months apart due to that!! As long as your baby is breastfeeding you won't stop lactating. Best of luck to you and your family!! :)

Whoever instructed you completely breastfeeding as a delivery administration might shop you from ovulating, is lieing. for many women, it rather is going to shop them from having a era, yet that would not recommend you won't have the capacity to get pregnant back. seem at Michelle Duggar, she breastfeeds, yet has had a baby exceptionally much each twelve months and now she has 19. My mom concept by way of soley breastfeeding she did no longer could hardship approximately it, and my siblings and that i are rather close in age because of the fact of it, same with my aunt. you probable are pregnant, take a attempt to be sure. this is greater artwork with 2 infants, yet a minimum of they are going to constantly have somebody to play with, you would be carried out with diapers around an identical time, and be carried out with toddler foodstuff around an identical time.

You can get pregnant at anytime! I'm still breastfeeding my 11 month old baby, and my doctor told me breastfeeding is not birth control. Some women get pregnant easier when there breastfeeding in fact. It won't keep you from lactatinng either. So I would test two weeks after you last had unprotected sex.

I didnt breastfeed but I know many people who have and for one Im just about certain you will not stop producing milk as many go on to breastfeed 2 children at the same time.
Also, it is not uncommon to not get a period until even a year after delivery but call the nurse at your ob office just to check in and run it by her.
of course it's possible to be pregnant using pull out. pre ejaculation has probably as many if not more sperm than the real deal.
good luck and be well
