if your dog likes someone you don't know does this indicate they have good judgement, or does it mean they are naive and don't know much about people?

My 2 siberians are very smart,
they are both friendly to the right people and very stand offish to people who are sus!
Most dogs are a good judge of character but then again if an axemurderer jumped your back fense with a slab of beef, I think their judgement my temporarily fade.

My 2 are also happy when i am and can sense if Im in a bad mood and if im having a teary they come and tuck their heads under my arms and sook with me....
Theyre very smart

No, my dog isn't really that smart, she was abused as a puppy and I think they beat her to the point where she has no common sense. I do think that some dogs have good judgment and know when someone is a good person but mine likes everyone and is a big baby!

Naive and don't know much about people. Someone can be great to dogs but still want to hurt people.

I have 2 dogs.
If I put peanut butter on Morris's nose and teeth, he will lick the air for 10 minutes. If I put it on Shadow's nose, she will wipe it on MY clothes then lick it off.

If someone walks into my house, my dogs will not let them in until they are properly sniffed and observed, if they don't like the way you smell, you aren't getting in.

Shadow will lay on the floor next to me, when I move to stand, she stands in front of me for me to hang on to so I can stand. She waits for me at the third stair, and won't let me upstairs unless I have a good hold of her back, then SHE will take me upstairs.

Every day when I take a shower, they will go into the walk in shower with me and stay there until we are clean, Morris will not leave the bathroom, until he is dried with a towel fresh from the dryer.

Both dogs heard my cats.

Shadow stays next to my crawling grandbaby, and if the baby heads to the next room, Shadow will nudge me if I dont see the baby, and sit in front of the baby until I redirect her.

Thanks for the 2 points.

Yes... very good judgement. My dogs didn't like either of my or my sisters ex-boyfriends, my dad, my friend (the one that stole $200 from my house)... So yeah, I'd say they do.

My dog is friendly to all people because he appreciates life and his happiness changes people, and I think that it is intelligent to be this way. It is a different story with other dogs though...he gets this ridge going on his back when he sees a dog larger than him! (that could eat him)

i dont know. my dog isn't smart, but i love him, he does all these kind of weird stuff and he does things that other dogs dont, that's why i named him Charlie. That name always reminds me off someone that does odd/funny things, anyhow.....

He's an excellent judge of character. But he'd play with Hitler if he had a tennis ball, so now I'm not so sure.
