i want to get a good distortion pedal that doesnt sound cheap. money is no object. i want the best. give me some opinions

I always liked the MXR distortion plus...they still make it! The Big Muff was too milky sounding to me

The one we used in the 70's was a Big Muff. I don't use one anymore. Just the gain on the amp.

Big Muff (there's a couple versions too, American and Russian). Check em both out

a pedal called a DOD and BOSS was used by iron maiden and judas priest. thats would be a good one.
