He is getting the colostrum, the clear good stuff with all the antibodies he will need for his immune system. At first it will not look like milk, you might think he is getting nothing or very little, but mommy he is getting the best start on life right from you. Make sure he has a good latch on, hold him close to you and straight on so his jaw won't get fatigued. If you need further help, find your local WIC office and ask to see a lactation consultant. It's free and VERY helpful!
Good luck!

He's only two weeks, you still have plenty of time! I have some of the same tips as the others. Mainly, just remain positive! LOTS of water! Pumping inbetween feedings will work wonders for your supply. You can get a cheap electric pump. I'd go cheap first to make sure it's gonna work out for you. Then if you end up pumping a lot you could invest in a good one or rent one. (I burned up the motors in three cheap ones with my first child after 11 mths! So 2nd child, I got a good one!)
Anyway, basically it can be done! Best of luck! There's a massage technique that has worked magic for me. I'll try to find the link!!

It may take a few days for your complete supply to come in, just like it would have had you started right from the hospital. Offer him the breast every time he wants something, the more you nurse the more your breast will stimulate lactation. Try going to GNC (or any other herbal or supplement store) and see if they have something called Mothers Milk Tea which helps to boost your supply. Try massaging and pumping during the time he's not feeding, good luck!

This will sound odd, but so many of my friends swear by it, drink gatorade. I used fenugreek to help build supply. Mothers milk tea rocks! Get plenty of water and try to get ahold of a supplemental nursing system. The more stimulation, the fast your milk will come in! Congrats! Breastfeeding is incredible.

When i was first nursing i thought I was drying up so tried this tea called Mother's Milk, it would be in the tea aisle in most grocery stores. It stimulates lactation. Just pump as often as possible and nurse too. Good luck.

Nurse him often to build up supply; it's not the amount he eats, it's the frequancy you feed him that'll bring it up. Also try pumping a lot. If you want to try herbs, try fenugreek. It helps stimulate milk production.
And keep in mind it takes a minute to get let-down activated, and I'm sure he's getting more than you think he is. Good luck and great job trying to give your baby the best start in life!

If you truly want it put him to the breast every time it's time to eat. Let him suck a while then give him a bottle ot get one of the fake things that you tape onto your breast but it gives formula. This will keep him interested in the breast while stimulating your milk. Don't give up!!!!

The best thing to do would be to get a supplemental nursing system and get him on the breast full time. It will do both of you a world of good!
