constitution of the United States?
Our country was designed around these principles for a reason.
The judiciary and the executive and the legislative branches were supposed to have equal powers in government.
Bush calls himself a compassionate conservative. Wouldn't a conservative want to preserve our system, not exploit it?

1st Buzie: THAT is an excellent question!
I too would like to know the answer.
IMO it's because the Democrats are hoping to utilize and benefit from these things as well! I am not so deluded that I don't know there are crooked Democrats involved in the mission GW's on! If I had more time I'd elaborate.

That is because the Bush supporters are deep in the infatuation of a personality cult and believe he can do no wrong. Just read some of these sophomoric and hateful replies you have already gotten.
I am curious as to why so many people still think he is so great. His track record of failures is becoming quite embarrassing, yet the dedicated few supporters of his will still spit venom at anyone who speaks negatively of their King (Pharaoh, czar, Caesar, messiah, megalomaniac). Although the Bush following is annoying and frustrating for those of us with progressive minds, it is still interesting to watch. I love when Bush makes another huge blunder or political faux pas to see what his supporters will come out and say. What will they do when he's gone?

Did you really think it was just the President?
NO President has had to testify before Congress in the ways this President has been asked to do.
NO President has been asked to turn over documents without proper authorization the way this President has been asked to do.
The list is quite long, and I'm a democrat. Even I have noticed the steady attempts to undermine and take power away from the President where past Presidents have always had such powers.
Look at the way the court has started trying to legislate from the bench.
This is why we have a three-branch system. It is balanced. They try to change it, but they can only shift it slightly before the other two branches start pushing back.
It's silly, with all the attempts in the last fifteen years to change that balance to pin point President Bush. It doesn't speak well of your political acumen. Open up. I am interested in democratic ideals (not liberal, not socialist). I look at both sides because I believe in free speech and am not a political bigot (hope you aren't, either).
Glad to see you fighting to keep that balance, but watch in all three directions. It would not bode well for us if we fought a President only to have judges or legislators slide into a dictatorship.

Brand Name recognition as Bush is a Republican though Bush would be gone and someone else left with the mess. Fear,Self interest. The people support Bush types and Bush think alikesin an indirect way by consumption of oil.It is what threatens the country no matter which party is in power. No oil use or not as high a consumption rate and use in just oil based products as oppossed to automobiles should help. There will be morewars unless this slows down as most of the oilin the world now is to be found in an obvious place and the supply is about to peak andthe 1970's was an example of what will happen.

Dearest Kelly,
What are you babbling about?
The wire taps without a court order? Justifiable cause.
The firing of appointed federal judges? Every incoming president does this. Clinton stacked the deck!
Oh! I know. The illegal ballot recounts in Florida! Oh wait. That's a democrat thang... Didn't work in Florida, so they took it to Washington state for the gubernatorials. Five recounts later and a new DEMOCRAT governor and we're all supposed to just kiss, make up and let it go "For the sake of the state..."

That's not true!
Liberals are the ones who have forsaken and burned the Constitution and Democracy ... and think that rule by judges is "freedom." and you have blinded the judiciary into believing it!!!
The sooner the judiciary, and the people wake up and realize that you Liberals are the problem the better off America will be.

He hasn't been impeached because the Democrats don't have the guts to make the case.
Those who still support him are either stubborn or foolish or both, as well as being in an ever-shrinking minority.

The so-called "conservatives" are really Communists who wave the American Flag. They're impostors. They should be hauled before the courts and given Soviet style justice.
