Hello,
Does anyone know how I can invest in Vietnam's stock market. I have a trading account with Wells Fargo but I do not believe I can purchase Vietnam stocks with them. Is there a place online where I can sign up? I have read big companies and individuals investing there and would also like to. Thank you all for your help.
Rudy

Hi Rudy,

I live and work in Vietnam and just returned to the US to visit family and friends. I just opened up an account with Tan Viet Securities:

They have a good online tool so I can manage my account while traveling. If you'd like me to put you in contact with them, let me know (butchreddy@yahoo.com)

Best,

Butch

You have two options. One is to open an account with a Vietnamese stock brokerage company. The downside of that is that the broker's financial strength may not be what you expect in the U.S. A slightly more expensive option is opening an account with a U.S. brokerage firm that has access to Vietnamese market through a local clearing partner. For example, Auerbach Grayson (www.agco.com) clears Vietnamese securities through a Vietnamese broker called Saigon Securities Inc.

Interesting replies. I had thought foreigners had no direct access to Viet stocks from sources in VN. Be advised, volatility may be an issue (ha!). Some of my VN friends have invested, somewhat heavily, and at least one reported taking a beating with heavy losses.
