That's who they nearly hired last year (though, being a Ravens fan, I was glad that they didn't). San Diego is probably the only other team that comes close to the Ravens in terms of defensive talent, though they haven't ever played up to their potential on defense (they do get alot of sacks, but they allow far too many points). Shawne Merrimen would probably get 25 sacks a season in a Rex Ryan defense and there is no way that you'd give up too many points to the top teams in the league (The Ravens under Ryan routinely hold the likes of Indy and Cincy to under 20).
Marvin Lewis, Mike Nolan, and Jack Del Rio have been massive successes after being signed off Baltimore's defensive coaching staff. Rex Ryan is probably the best coordinator in franchise history and would be an even better coach.
When Norv Turner is fired for going 8-8 or something like that, should San Diego replace him with Rex Ryan?

Did you read the article in Yahoo sports section yesterday about the Chargers? To sum it up for you, they are getting what they asked for by firing Marty, AJ Smith is an egomaniac that should be fired with Norvy TODAY and Spanos should beg Marty to come back.
I totally agree, the Chargers are getting what they asked for. And I am sure enjoying watching the most talented team fumble and stumble because Management has no idea about a locker room.

i'm no longer a Charger fan, yet they did no longer sneak in without first getting burned on some video games they lost. fantastically with the undesirable call against the Broncos. The branch became the Broncos to lose and that they did. The Chargers did what they had to do or maybe beat the Colts interior the playoffs. Shawn Merriman out for the season became an excellent hit for the team on protection. The stress he supplies to the QB is what made the protection artwork. On suitable of that, LT has been nagged with that toe harm all season long. He suggested he became a hundred% by way of mid season, yet I doubt it. A toe harm to a RB seams small besides the shown fact that that's no longer in case you're able to cut back as we communicate like LT does. there have been multiple aspects interior the Chargers this season. maximum have been out of his administration. purely because of the fact he did no longer have the checklist expected would not recommend he did no longer get the team the place they mandatory to be, interior the playoffs for the Championship hunt. shop an open recommendations and notice the completed image until eventually now passing judgement on one individual. Thumbs as much as those that agree.

I'm a huge Ravens fan, but I'll be honest with you, there are probably a lot better coaches around than Ryan. His defenses are amazing, but not nearly as good as the ones we had under Marvin Lewis, and he s taken the Bungals to the playoffs only once in his tenior. I don't think SD will fire Turner at the end of this season unless they finish worse than 7-9. They'll give the fans another year of him in an attempt to make them forget how idiotic they were to fire Marty; it won't work, but they will try to save face.

After the BRONCOS beat them this weekend they'll be looking for a new coach. The question is you'll replace Norv. I don't think Ryan will go and there is not a lot of good coaches left. If I wasn't such a HUGH BRONCO FAN I would feel sorry for them. But I'm thinking that they are stupid #sses for letting Marty go.

Norv Turner should get fired tomorrow. I would hire Marty again. I doubt he would come back now though after what they did to him. The Chargers deserve to lose anyway. They are a bunch of classless sore losers.

HAHA...give Norv Turner time, his system will kick in and they'll pick up where they left off. One year with the Chargers is not enough to fire him. I just love how every Chargers fan couldn't wait to see Marty go and now they wish he was back. Bad decision in my opinion. If your team consistently goes to the playoffs then there is no problem.

No, they should beg Marty to come back, but he'll not come back, of course. Too bad.
