kid, read history. Mesoamerica was invaded by Spanish and British and other countries. They had a language and they had culture. It was all stolen from them. They were murdered and there scriptures were burnt. They were forced to convert to Christianity and adopt western culture. They had no choice.

Hahahaha.

1) You need to brush up on your history. Now, dearie, what happened in 1492? Where did Columbus sail from? Who financed his voyage(s)? What did he and other Spaniards do upon their arrival? What countries did they visit?

2) Did you know that more than one language is spoken in Latin American and the Caribbean basin? Many indigenous languages are spoken on the continent (21 Mayan languages, Aymara, Quechua, etc. just to name a few). AND English, French, Spanish and Dutch are the official languages of many Caribbean islands.

3) You need to get out of your room more often. South Americans are white, black, brown and are all different. There are Jewish, Italian and Germans living in Argentina and Chile. While you're at it, check out the number of Japanese living in Peru. Brazil (also in South America, in case you didn't know) was settled by the Portuguese, French and Dutch who enslaved thousands of Africans in the 17th and 18th centuries. Brazilians speak Portuguese and have strong ties to their African ancestry. NONE of South America's inhabitants would call themselves Spanish.

South American culture (and Latin American and Caribbean culture, all strongly related) is indeed rich.

You need spell-check and better teachers. AND MAPS!

South Americans don't need your mother's pity. Nor yours, for that matter. If anything, it is your ignorance that is pitiful.

they did not steal Spanish; it was imposed from the time of Spanish conquest.

there is a lot of blending of Spanish and aboriginal peoples throughout Latin America; some identify as Indians, some as Spanish. It's not your call to say what's ccorrect or what isn't.

Also, South America has tremendous cultural resources, whether or not you saw (or perceived) them.

Wow, seems like your mom didn't know much and passed it on to you. South America didn't steal Spanish. They were occupied and it was imposed on them. It's like you're saying English was stolen by Americans from the English.

What do they teach in schools these days? Sorry, I just can't stand stupids.

So that would be like accusing the USA "of not having a language" because they are not English themsleves and they stole the language from England. LOL What stupid point of view!

OMG!!!

Don't you know about the Mayans, Aztecs and Incas, they were Native American civilizations that lived in South America.

When Spanish conquistadors came to South America and took over the people had to talk speaking Spanish.
