It's mostly the libs. They hate the Israelis for some reason.

I'm thinking that the use of these words in this forum is probably done in reference to a question or perhaps an answer.
As a side note to those who answered...liberals hating Jews? I know fewer liberals who hate Jews than I know Jews who hate Jews.
I think you may be a bit confused. The term "Jew" does not have a derogatory connotation nor does the term "Zionist".

I don't think it is. I do see references to Israel. And since we are funding that state, with over 30 billion a year now, we have every right to criticize as we wish. It's a country, and not a person who is being criticized. When they start following UN orders, and stop using illegal tactics to enter into Palestinian territory, I'm sure that you will not see much about Israel after that.
And, Zionist is NOT a derogatory term. It is a definition of a person who believes that the Holy land of Palestine, belongs to the Jewish people because They are "Gods chosen". the land that belonged to the Jews for a short time over 2000 years ago.

Just because you say Jew or Zionist or criticize Israel doesn't mean you are an anti semite. I've confirmed this as fact with on Yahoo Answers and messageboards everywhere. Some people are just too sensitive and need to get over it.

There is a big difference between being a Jew and being a Zionist. I don't know why people have trouble making that distinction. I am against the Zionist movement, but that doesn't mean I hate Jews. In fact, I have Jewish friends. But I don't like Zionism because it's racist.

Trust me, it's not just you. I just answered a question by somebody who blasted us for supporting Israel's right to exist and defend itself, and despite the facts I used, I was given only one positive rating, and eight negative ratings(so far, that is). The rest of that board was filled with people branwashed by Anti-American, Anti-Israeli and Anti-Semitic propaganda.
The truth is, like the rest of the internet, Yahoo is global, and gets people from all walks of life, who believe all kinds of far-fetched crap. So you'll have plenty of people from the Middle East who think Jews control everything in the world except what time they themselves have to pee in the toilet, not to mention sympathizers from the far-right and far-left(Nazis and Communists respectivley). And since we've been at war against radical Islamic terrorism for the past 6 years, these scumbags are turning up their propaganda machine a lot more.

zionism was created by those who believed in the state of israel. not all jews are zionists. not all zionists are jews.
for example, i'm jewish, but i'm not a zionist. one can be anti-zionist without being anti-jewish.
benny morris, who is jewish and a zionist and an israeli, states that zionist terrorists used terrorism to steal the land of the pals. see google.

It's because there's a lot of pinhead anti-semetic liberals on this site from time to time. You know, the kind that applauded at Columbia yesterday.
By the way, someone should tell I'm OK that the span of years from 1,800 BC to 60 years past the time of Christ is NOT A SHORT TIME!

I don't know; why are so many people on here anti-Bush? Perhaps they don't read:
Losing bin Laden: How Bill Clinton’s Failure Unleashed Global Terror and Shadow War: The Untold Story of How Bush Is Winning the War on Terror by Richard Miniter, a fellow at the Hudson Institute.
Forms of Government:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_forms_of_government
The same goes for Jews, Muslims, Liberals, etc., most people have no idea what they are really about. That isn't the problem: life is too short, people are busy, we just don't have time to really learn about all these various groups.
But, hey, no one needs to be anti-(Jew, Muslim, Christian, black, red, white, brown, Mexican, or yellow or whatever!)

Hey guess what. There's alot of anti semitism in alot of places. Not just here.
Zionist is always used as a derogatory term towards anyone that supports the existence of the state of Israel.
And if you are Jewish, then "Jew" is what they call you after you leave the room.
Its not a liberal / conservative thing. There are probably as many right wing anti semites as left wing wackos. Its a combination of ignorance, hatred, and bitterness.

Sometimes it's used in an anti-Semitic way, but mostly it's because people are talking about Israel now that Ahmadinejad is in the US talking incessantly about Zionists.
