My all time favorite is one called "Ophelia", written by Florence Stevenson. I read it yeeears ago.
It's about an eccentric old lady that is leaving her entire estate to her cat Ophelia. The nephew is livid, he had plans for all that loot. He decides to kill the cat and drops her down the well. Ophelia drowns, but comes back as a woman. Someone hears her screaming from down deep in the well and rescues her, naked and scared. You see, she may LOOK like a woman, but inside she's still a cat.
I love the way the author describes her confusion over human ways....clothing, eating habits, (humans don't eat MICE!! What's wrong with them!) walking upright, not to mention they actually get in the WATER... ON PURPOSE!!
It was a wonderful book and she gets her revenge in the end in a most delicious way.
I'd love to find this book again. I've tried, but it's long out of print.

Thanks for asking this question! Star for you!

The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks
*This book reminds me of that Michael Douglas and Glenn Close movie Fatal Attraction!
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King
*She gets lost in the woods (thats all I'm saying)
The Pelican Brief by John Grisham
*great suspence book

But I'd have to say that my favorite book is The Guardian (it's not about the coast guard).

Honestly, it's Les Miserables. I'm not just saying that to be pretentious, I'm really in love with that novel.

I also happen to adore Spindle's End by Robin McKinley, which may be more like what you're looking for, but I don't consider it guilty-pleasure. The way I see it, if I'd be too embarassed to tell anyone I read it, it's probably not worth reading.

Hmm.... Either Twilight by Stephenie Meyer or Eyes of War by Janna Nickerson. But all of my friends know that. My favorite book that no one knows I've read is The Westing Game, though I forget the name of the author. I had to read it in 5th grade, so I only really remember the basic plot, but for some odd reason, I truly loved the book.

Anything VC Andrews! I love the Flowers In The Attic series... I have read all of those books and I'm still not sick of them!

Also, The Outsiders is another favorite of mine. I feel so childish, but I really enjoyed that book.

Well I quite liked A series of Unfortunate Events. Many people would disagree to this but I just found Harry Potter too hard to get into. Unfortunate events is exiting to read and you learn new things that you may not of known before you read it.
