I dont mind eating healthy and I hope to live a very long time.
I think its sad when people live hard to die young. I see alot of people dying in their 50s and 60s from preventable diseases and I think..... you have thown away 20 or 30 years and left those who love you for what? Its really sad.
Of coarse you can still be healthy and die young but you are minimising the chance and looking and feeling better while you are alive.
I choose health anyday. No amount of fast food, cigarettes, drugs etc could be that good they are worth halving my life..... I wish more valued their lives.
About 90% of cancer are lifestyle/diet related... thats huge

It's all about happiness. I am willing to risk shortening my life to increase my overall happiness now by being able to go out to eat when I want and have some drinks in the evening. I suppose if there were better tasting healthy foods and diet beer, I'd try it.

Easy, since I already eat mostly healthy foods.
And I don't drink or smoke.
But then, I don't really even enjoy eating in the first place, so it's not much of an issue for me.
Just finished my dinner of 1/2 turkey sandwich on hearty wheat bread with sliced tomato.
And survived.

You only live once. If people feel the need to eat, drink, and smoke then at least they enjoyed themselves. I would rather have lived a happy life than a sad one where I walk on egg shells.

I would definitely rather be healthy and live a long life. I have kids. I would like to see them grow up and have families of their own. I have never drank or smoked, mainly for religious reasons, but I did have this eye opening experience when I was in 4th grade. My teacher brought in a healthy lung and a black lung from a person who had died of lung cancer caused from smoking. They were in plexiglass and she passed them around. That experience was quite profound for me. In fact when I was in HS I remember seeing kids from that 4th grade class and they were smoking and I just thought, "oh my gosh, how can they smoke after seeing that black, half eaten lung?" But I guess it didn't have as big of an impact on them. Or they just succombed to peer pressure...

that's a tough question, but I'd rather eat how I'd like and not smoke of drink alcohol. So that way I could live a little longer and most likely wouldn't end up of lung cancer

Nothing, really.
Of course, I don't smoke or drink, I like neither of those, but my typical Midwestern diet isn't health food. OTOH, my Dad's 82 & still going, his Dad made it to 84, my Mom's 75, I'll be hjappy if I live that long eating the same diet they did...extra time spent eating food I hate would be punishment, not reward.

Yes! I eat relatively healthy and want to live a longer fuller life. I see junk food as "filler food" it may fill you up but it does not provide you with the nutrients that the body needs.
Smoking smells bad and is horrible for the body. Lung cancer anyone? No thanks!

Live life to the fullest, die young if you have to. I would avoid the really obvious things like smoking, or drinking too much, but I would not eat lettuce only for the rest of my life just because it would increase my lifespan. Life is meant to be enjoyed, its not a contest to see who can last the longest.

I have no aspirations of living long enough to see my hooters reach my navel so I plan on going the junk food, drinking and smoking route. At least I'll die happy.
