I would suggest changing your browser to Firefox. The reason is I've had it as my primary browser for six months now and have had great results. Mozilla offers many add-ons and extensions that work well. Mine has pop-up & flash blockers and I never got the performance from yahoo with toolbar and blockers that I've got from Firefox. Try it if you don't like it just un-install it and use something else. But I don't think you will change back once you try it.

To be rid of the malware, after you have installed the scanning programs listed below, be sure to update them.
A security program is only effective if it updated with the latest definitions. Updating will help provide protection against the most recently introduced security threats.

I used to get pop-ups even with a Yahoo! toolbar but since I downloaded an Earthlink toolbar, I haven't had even one!

I'd say you have some spyware on your computer. Go to a site called www.download.com and get yourself a good spyware remover.
