Yep, those two monitor will duel over the signal quality.


You will get a picture on both monitors. It will be the same picture and it will be dimmer than a single monitor without the split. They will probably be smeared or have ghosting on them.

A video cable has a defined impedance, and needs to have a matching impedance at each end. When you put a Y cable in there you are messing this impedance up and so you will probably get all sorts of nasty effects.

Get a new video card with dual outputs. It will work much better.

im not sure what you mean by dual, if you have a splitter, i suppose you can have the same picture on 2 monitors, but you cant expand the desktop on to another monitor. in order to expand the desktop you must a have a computer with a videocard that has 2 monitor connections on it. if you dont you can buy another most likely depepnding on your computer.

yes. That's often how it's done for projector's hooked up to a desktop machine.
