I also love trouble by coldplay...i love a mysterious and melancholical piano....i apologize for the odd wording of the question...ran out of character space.

I am older school. I can give you sad piano songs from pop, R&B, and album-style rock.

Andrew Gold - Always For You (this one's a rare gem)
Kim Carnes - Breaking Away From Sanity
Brenda Russell - Piano In The Dark
The Eagles - Desperado (all Don Henley, though)
Michael Murtin Murphey - Wildfire
Linda Ronstadt - Someone To Lay Down Beside Me
Linkin Park - Breaking The Habit (acoustic version - very powerful when simple)

If you have heard of Evanescence, their new single, "Good Enough" has a lovely, majestic piece in the beginning. On the album version anyway.

Nightwish is bound to have classical things as such.
