He's only 2 years older than Tom Brady, and 5 years younger than Bret Favre. Could he play for 3 or 4 more years?

Well, you answered your own question when you brought up Favre, who is 37...So, Griese could play for about 5 more years really...

Sure he could and he has been productive in the past. The problem with Grossman is that he IS getting protection and time and he is throwing interceptions and making bad decisions. Griese could certainly be productive long enough for the Bears to get a new QB in camp and learn from him and progress slowly. Not only should Rex not start, he really should be dealt or released. He will be trouble on the bench if not playing. Griese could be enough to get the Bears to the playoffs. Again, he has done well when he has a good O line.

Griese is not the answer. He may win some games but I don't see him playing very much longer at least as a starter. One year as a starter(this year) and if the Bears are smart he'll be a back up next year. Losing Thomas Jones and not going after a free-agent QB like Garcia or trying to get Schaub, when Rex clearly is a bad QB is going to hurt the Bears. They have to pick up a free agent starter next year. Some people say Mcnabb I don't know about that

The real question is do you want him to play 4 more years.
I dont think Griese is that much of an upgrade over Train wrex grossman. The only thing Chicago can hope for is to somehow get Donovan McNabb next year.
There is not a QB on Chicago's roster that can win the super Bowl

Yeah, he could play for 5 more years. but he has to be good. Bret Favre is a good QB. so if Griese can be good like him, then yeah sure he can play for a couple more years

Sure he could, if somebody is dumb enough to let him. Griese should never be mentioned on the same page with Brady and Favre. It's an insult to them.

I didn't realize that Griese is that old--I remember meeting his dad at a dinner one time. Nice guy

Back to the question, I figure he probably has four or so years left to go--by age 36, you're feeling it, unless you're super-human, or your last name is Favre.

I dunno why Brett has performed so well for so long. I'm from Green Bay--maybe its the combination of cajun cooking and grilled brats. Who knows...

I don't know, but he's gotta be better than Rex Grossman. My Boyz gave him and the Chicago defense a whoopin last Sunday. They might not be able to shake that one off.

Maybe five or six years. We'll see in the next few weeks what he still has left.
