I have no idea, I hoovered 2 up yesterday and even the wooshing noise as they disappeared up the pipe made me feel sick....Aaaaarrrggghh..I hate them!
I dont like killing them but there is no room on earth that is big enough for a spider and me!

Yes, I have loads too, I guess it's because it's getting cold out, and maybe wetter.
Also, huge craneflies (daddy long legs). There are loads, and WHY do they come indoors in hoards the second you open the door a mm?! They hide too. As soon as I get the hoover, they hide. And they can escape from a spiders web, I've seen them do it. Apparently they contain a deadly poison - that's why my cat vomits them up. So what is the purpose for the cranefly? It doesn't eat anything. Just makes a nuisance of itself.

The huge ones are garden spiders looking for a home over winter. Some of the plug in the socket deterrents work against spiders for about £30.

I think they are allowed in to the house now it's officially Autumn. What's annoying is they sit in front of the television on the carpet and block the view. Still, they haven't found how to work the channel changer - yet!

I don't know, but we have the same problem at home. I think the come out of the walls or something when it is hot because the inside of the house is usually cooler.

They have been partying out side eating the bugs in your garden all summer -- its chilly now and they want to come inside your cozy warm house and snuggle up with you -- also its too cold out side for the bugs they eat so most of them are gone and they need to come in and eat the bugs roaming inside. Most are not threatening, and they really dont like to snuggle with you -- they like to keep to them selves.

I believe it's because it's starting to get cold and rainy - they are looking for somewhere warm and dry to stay alive!
I can't stand them either, but my problem has been solved every since I bought a cat - he just chases them and then eats them for me!

its starting to get cool outside. as humans, we can't/don't feel the season's change as much as other creatures. the spiders know colder weather is coming so they go inside to stay warm
