When I drive my car makes a grinding noise, somewhat similar to a circular saw. It doesnt happen when I am traveling fast, only around 20-40 mph. I took off the front tire to look and couldnt see any loose objects. When I did the brake area was very hot to the touch. Any help would be awesome

Ok a few other details, it is not the brake wear sensor I know what that sounds like and this is different, also to the guy who said I could be wearing my rotor, I had the tire off today and looked at it and the rotor is fine, I was guessing bearing. I plan on taking it to the shop tomorrow during my lunch break.

If it's not your brake sensors then you have a bad wheel bearing.

Check to see if the dust shield is hitting the back of the rotor. Make sure your brake pads are not completely worn out resulting in metal to metal contact. Lastly your wheel bearing might be on it's way out. Brakes heat up quickly so don't be concerned about that.

Maybe its time u changed Ur brakes and while Ur at it change Ur roters chances are u made grooves on it. If u change the brakes only, ur going to have the same problem pretty soon. The grinding noise is because u dont have any pad left on the brake. I had the same problem on my car. Do that and youll feel and hear the difference. Good Luck.

My initial thought is that you have a caliper that is sticking or that your break pads are worn and you are hearing the "sensor" that indicates you are almost out of pad.

As for the temperature, it will be hot as a normal part of braking.

does the car pull to this side while driving? If so the brake caliper could be sticking. If not it could be the hub bearing has failed and needs to be replaced
