More commonly, they show up before it rains or in hot and humid weather. They have many legs. If I take out half their body, the remain half still moves.

It could be Millipedes or Centipedes. Something other than the rain/humid weather is attracting them to your house. Rotting old wood, grass clippings, leaves, and so on make for a nice home for them to breed in. Check around the outside and under your house for those things and check for cracks around doors, windows, the foundation wall, and any place else there are holes/cracks around your house; seal all that you find up.
