Okay, so I am having issues booting my laptop. I am assuming (after doing some background reading) that my ram bitten the dust. I also spent about 2 days finding out that the 2nd ram slot is conveniently located under the keyboard. I have accessed both slots (finally). However, before purchasing new stick(s), I need to know if both slots need to be occupied with a stick. And, if not, which should I but a new stick in and which should I leave empty. Currently, I have 2 X 512 MB for a total of 1 gb. I am unsure how to test which (if either to be technically correct) one or if both sticks are bad. Someone please help!

I got 1 a GB of RAM for my zv6000 and I honestly have only noticed a little difference (with video playback). I'm a little peeved because I could've saved $80. Oh well. I was told that the 512 I had was attached to the motherboard and there was only one slot in which to attach the 1 GB that I received from HP. Honestly, I'm more peeved with my laptop just shutting down when the power cord is attached, but just fine when the power is disconnected. I hear that this is a problem with many HP's and expensive to fix. Good luck to you.
