A farce
In Presidential, Congressional and Senatorial races corporations choose who the voters "feel" they elected.
Canadian? I think it still applies to all neoliberal Nations.

Where? The process varies by country, and often by state. And it varies by the type of election.

For example, at the US federal level -- Congressfolk are elected directly -- either by district or state-wide -- but the President and VP are chosen by electors in the electoral college -- and the electors for each state are chosen based on the laws of that state and the voters of that state.
