Hi!
I am currently having some problems. My fish always go to the back of the tank everytime I go and check on them. They only swim around when I am not next to the tank. Is there a way I could help this so I could see my catfish way better.

You likely have too few of them to feel comfortable. As you know, they are both shoaling fish and appreciate their own species... With ANYTHING less than 3 of their own kind, they will become stressed and darting because of their social discomfort. Keep about 4 of each and you will see much improved social skills. Also, check your water to make sure it is at a healthy level of ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. Excessive toxins can also stress fish out and make them dart for cover from the slightest disturbance.

1. How long have you had them?

2. Try sitting in a comfy chair in front of the tank they should eventually get used to you.

3. My fish will swim up to the glass when i come in there and follow me around with baby eyes asking for food!!

4. They should get used to you so dont be upset about it.

5. Do you have enough plants to make them feel safe and secure in there??

6. If you need anything else you can email me! Good luck :]
